Sarah Bissell is an illustrator living and working in Edinburgh. She was recently an Artist in Residence at Edinburgh College of Art after gaining a Masters degree in illustration there. She has previously worked as a screen printer and obtained a BA Hons Degree in Illustration from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
Working in a variety of media such as printmaking, collage, risograph and bookmaking, her work tends to focus on the importance of colour and textures. Themes of her work include mental illness, synaesthesia, and memory but tackled in an often tongue in cheek/surreal manner.
Sarah has previously interned with Hato Press in London, undertaken residencies in Edinburgh College of Art and St Margarets House and frequently illustrates for the likes of The Skinny and Tribe magazine.
